Stefanie Dove is a Registered Dietitian and School Nutrition Specialist based in Northern Virginia. She received her Bachelors of Science in Food and Nutrition from CUNY Lehman College and completed her Dietetic Internship at Lenoir-Rhyne University. She is currently completing her MBA in Marketing at Liberty University. Stefanie’s current role is Coordinator of Marketing and Community Outreach for the third largest school nutrition program in Virginia.
Stefanie is a spokesperson for American Dairy Association Northeast. She speaks at conferences, lectures, schools and corporations locally and nationally. She has spoken on countless topics such as school nutrition, school wellness policies, farm to school, brand management and marketing, Celiac Disease, weight management for both adults and children, dining out, healthy eating while traveling, and food allergies. She works tirelessly with teachers in Loudoun County to promote nutrition and wellness in the schools and has been instrumental in enhancing the school garden program for her district. Stefanie’s efforts have allowed her to increase the number of school gardens in the district by 233% in the three years she has been there.
She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics where she serves on the Membership Committee, Northern Virginia Dietetic Association where she serves is the current Social Media Chair and past Council on Practice chair, Virginia Dietetic Association, School Nutrition Association where she serves on the Young Professionals Taskforce, School Nutrition Association of Loudoun County where she served as President, Nutrition Entrepreneurs Dietetics Practice Group, School Nutrition Services Dietetics Practice Group where she serves at Sponsorship Chair, Dietitians in Business and Communications Dietetics Practice Group, and is an active member of the Young Professionals Committee for the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce where she serves as Social Media Chair.
Stefanie is actively involved in community organizations where she collaborates with members to provide nutrition education sessions, grocery store tours and cooking classes to local residents. Stefanie has also worked with local and national restaurants, food companies and commodity boards to provide menu and recipe consulting. She is also actively involved with Loudoun Youth where she volunteers on the Programming Committee. These accolades recently attributed to Stefanie being recognized as one of Loudoun County’s 40 Under 40 for 2017. Stefanie was also recognized for her farm to school efforts and was named one of Loudoun’s 100 residents making an impact in the community. Most recently, Stefanie was nominated by the community as Loudoun’s Young Professional Community Leader of the Year and received the Young Dietitian of the Year award from the Virginia Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Stefanie believes in paying it forward to the next generation of dietitians. As a result, she currently acts as a preceptor where she oversees 5-7 interns annually. Her unique role in school nutrition allows her to provide interns with the ability to gain experience in marketing and communications during their administrative and food service rotations. Her extensive farm to school and nutrition education work provides enriching community rotation opportunities for interns. Stefanie’s goal is to help transform the perception of school meals of not only her interns, but the community and nation.
